I feel like I’m in an abusive relationship with Doctor Who. I started watching the show because it was cool and it always taught me something like you don’t need to be special to make a difference to those around you, it made me dream of stars and after today I’m sort of disappointed that the rumours about John Hurt turned out to be true. It’s like Moffat is saying “oh so you like this show? I’m gonna mess with it, the past 50 years of the show’s history have happened because of super Clara and oh, btw I’m adding a new Doctor just because I want to be remembered as the guy who changed Doctor Who forever”
I had some thoughts on tonight’s episode, prompted by a post on my dashboard referring to the Doctor as Clara’s “best friend”:

Statistically, you have probably met the Eighth Doctor. Unfortunately, his amnesia tends to be contagious.
The recent leaks of the Series 7 finale confirm that the Doctor is actually a Jelly Baby and Clara is a Jammy Dodger.
The Doctor’s name was actually “Would you like a” and his Fourth incarnation’s catchphrase was actually a means of introducing himself.
By the time he reached his fifth incarnation, he became fed up of being mistaken for “The Doctor” and thus just went with it, as before.
